On the 6th of September 2026, Resurrection Church in Virar East came alive with joy and gratitude as we celebrated Teacher's Day following the 8 AM morning Mass. The event was a heartfelt tribute to the dedicated educators who shape our lives and futures. Post Communion a special video prepared by the Media Team showcased the dedication of our Sunday School teachers. Following the Mass, all teachers were honoured with gifts, roses, and certificates as a token of appreciation and gratitude by Fr. Thomas D'costa, Parish Priest.

 The celebration continued in the church hall at 9 AM. It all began with our enthusiastic youth, animating the entire programme with the help of the Sunday school children. Their energy set a warm and inviting tone for the day, making everyone feel welcome. They introduced the event with a few words about the importance of teachers in our lives, reminding us of their invaluable contributions.

 Following the prayer of Blessings, Jyoti, one of our students read a heartfelt address, expressing gratitude on behalf of all the students. The message highlighted the impact teachers have on our lives, inspiring us to grow in our faith and love for Jesus and the church.  It was a touching moment that reminded us of the love, commitment and dedication our teachers show every Sunday without fail.

 The celebration continued with a lively group mix action song performed by the Catechism children. Their enthusiasm and energy filled the room, bringing smiles to everyone’s faces. It was a delightful performance that showcased the talent and spirit of our young ones.

  Fr. Thomas D'costa, then shared a heartfelt message, expressing his gratitude to the teachers for their unwavering commitment to education. He presented gifts to the teachers, acknowledging their efforts and encouraging them to continue inspiring the next generation.

 To add a fun element to the day, we organized games for the teachers. Laughter and joy filled the air as everyone participated, creating a sense of unity and friendship among the staff and students. The celebration concluded with photo sessions, capturing beautiful moments with our beloved teachers. These photos will serve as cherished memories of a day filled with love and appreciation.

 In conclusion, the Teacher's Day celebration at Resurrection Church was a heartfelt tribute to our educators. It was a day filled with joy, gratitude, and community spirit, reminding us all of the invaluable role teachers play in shaping our lives.
