Virar East, October 20, 2026: Resurrection Church, Virar East, organised two training programmes on October 20, 2026, for Catechism teachers and parish lectors, aimed at strengthening their commitment and equipping them with the knowledge and skills required for their respective ministries. Fr Franco Pereira SDB, Rector and Manager of St Dominic Savio School, Andheri, served as the resource person for both programmes.

Virar East, October 2026: Resurrection Church, Virar East, celebrated its Parish Youth Day with enthusiasm, faith, fellowship and fun, coinciding with the 100th World Mission Sunday. In a first in the history of the parish, the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) leaders and heads of various associations took the initiative to organise the event, allowing the youth to relax, enjoy and experience the joy of being part of the parish community.

On the morning of October 4, 2026, the regular 8:00 AM Sunday Mass at the local parish felt a little more special. Amidst the familiar hymns and morning prayers, the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul (SVP) held a solemn and uplifting oath taking ceremony for its members.

On Sunday, October 11, 2026, the campus of Resurrection Church in Virar East transformed into a vibrant sanctuary of hope and intercession. Immediately following the 8 a.m. Holy Mass, the parish community gathered in the church courtyard for a special Peace Rosary. This deeply moving spiritual event was entirely organized and conducted by the youth of the parish.

On Sunday, October 11, 2026, the campus of Resurrection Church in Virar East hosted a highly relevant and eye-opening educational talk addressing one of the most defining technologies of our era. Conducted by Fr Joaquim Fernandes, the session focused on "How AI Can Affect Us in Our Day-to-Day Life." Far from a dry, academic lecture, the programme was a highly interactive session that saw enthusiastic participation from parishioners of all ages, eager to understand the invisible forces shaping their modern daily routines.

On the 20th of September 2026, the Konkani community gathered in large numbers at the Resurrection Church, Virar East, to celebrate themuch-awaited Monti Fest. Organized by the Konkani Welfare Association (VKW) under the leadership of Head Dian Dsouza and their active team, the day was a true reflection of devotion, culture, and unit. Monti Fest celebration (the traditional Mangalorean Catholic harvest festival).
